A Message from Jodi Felton, President, Parents' Association
The 2016-2017 Wooster School Parents' Association had another successful year of accomplishments that displayed our continued parent commitment to the School. The Parents' Association’s mission is to bring the Wooster community together as well as fund raise for Wooster School. The Parents' Association breakfast and monthly meetings showcased many of the wonderful projects on campus, and the Parent Socials and creation of the Parent Activities Committee showed our continued determination and purpose of bringing our Wooster community together.
Our Parent volunteers were out in great numbers volunteering for Photo Days, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, as well as giving help to Wooster School’s Admissions, Social Impact, Development, and College Guidance offices. Our successful fund-raising efforts were visible in our programs such as the Thanksgiving Pie Fundraiser, Dinner at Chipotle, Square One, Stop & Shop Rewards, Target, Box Tops, Amazon Smiles, and the Wooster Annual Gala. Through these efforts the Parents' Association donated money to the Summer Projects; such as the renovation of McAlister, campus drainage, widening the road to the Middle School, and landscaping that will help to make Wooster more beautiful and functional. The Parents’ Association sponsored Wooster's annual Gala and Fall Festival, helped to underwrite the Rio de Encontro Dancers that visited the campus, a gift to every teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week, and to every graduating Senior.
The Wooster Annual Gala was another success in bringing the parents and Wooster staff together in a warm and relaxed social setting on the Wooster campus. Our parent volunteers did an incredible job making the night spectacular! No one forgot that we were there to raise money for educational enhancements for our students.
As this is my last year as Parents’ Association President and I want to thank the Parents’ Association Executive Board and Grade Representatives, Wooster Board of Trustees, Wooster School’s Staff and Administration, and the wonderful parents of Wooster for your deep commitment and tireless efforts to make Wooster a place with a deep community bond that we are all very proud of.
